Abstract & Keywords

Field verification of surveyed land boundaries traditionally relies on manual measurement, which is slow and susceptible to human error. This paper presents a mobile field-verification application that separates office-based boundary creation from GPS-based field verification, using a PostGIS-backed geospatial database with GEOGRAPHY-type storage under SRID 4326. The system applies dual verification thresholds, requiring both a distance error of 2 meters or less and a GPS accuracy of 3 meters or better, combined with a 1.5-second stability window before accepting a boundary point as verified. Field trials across 45 land parcels in rural Maharashtra show a 96.7% first-attempt verification success rate and reduce average field verification time per parcel from 38 minutes (manual) to 11 minutes.
